The St Monica Food Pantry is a project of the volunteer members of the St. Monica Community Food Pantry. The Community Food Pantry is committed to bringing hope, compassion and assistance to those low income individuals and families living within our parish area. We strive to promote the human dignity of all those in need; to this end we act in collaboration with other individuals and organizations of good will in serving the poor by working to help ease the impact on people’s lives of the poverty resulting from economic and social injustice.

The St Monica Community Food Pantry project endeavours to transform our congregation’s concern for the poor into direct action by providing assistance to individuals and families with food security needs. Through the food pantry project, we provide emergency food aid for 80-100 individuals and families per month.

In general, our clientele falls into the following categories:

  • The homeless
  • Immigrants and refugees
  • Those with no source of income
  • Seniors and those on fixed incomes
  • The working poor.
  • Those enrolled in governmental financial assistance programs
